Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Gamma Mu's Philanthropy
Our chapter proudly supports Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, with our local partner being Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Greenville, SC! Throughout the year, we host a variety of fundraising and service events to support the incredible children and families cared for by CMN Hospitals.Some of our signature events include kickball and pickleball tournaments, volleyball competitions, and other events during our annual Miracle Week like Pie a Phi Mu, Find a Sister, and our Phi Mu Cookout. We also organize percentage nights at local businesses, along with selling custom t-shirts and buttons to raise funds and awareness.In addition to fundraising, our chapter is committed to service. We’ve hosted blanket-making events and toy drives to support patients at Prisma, and while in-person visits have been limited since the pandemic, our sisters look forward to reconnecting with the hospital community in the future!Giving back is at the heart of who we are, and we’re proud to contribute to miracles that happen every day through CMN Hospitals!
